Roadmap for Participatory Archiving: Plan and produce successful scanning days in your community

Title

Roadmap for Participatory Archiving: Plan and produce successful scanning days in your community

Description

Join Maine Contemporary Archives as we learn about the Roadmap for Participatory Archiving (RoPA) with Dr. Carolyn Goldstein, Public History and Community Archives Program Manager at UMass Boston. RoPA is a set of modules designed to guide librarians and archivists in their collaborations with communities to document local and community histories, available at ropa.umb.edu. Based on the success of the Mass. Memories Roadshow, a statewide, event-based participatory archiving project established in 2004, RoPA was developed with input from advisors like Kathy Amoroso of Maine Historical Society’s Maine Memory Network. Dr. Goldstein will present the history of RoPA and participatory archiving, guide us through the RoPA resources and workshop program ideas with participants.
